Jimin continues to assert his "Brand King" status as fans and celebrities alike keep purchasing and selling out items because of him

Jimin has cemented his name as the 'Brand King' and 'Sold Out King' for his massive influence on consumer spending habits. It is for this reason that he has now been named the #1 idol in brand reputation for 35 consecutive months up until November 2021and 39 months overall as of March 2022, a record that no other idol has ever achieved. This brand reputation ranking is used to gauge the marketability of an idol in South Korea based on the public's perception of the idol. He was also ranked as the #1 'Most Preferred Idol in South Korea' by Gallup Survey in 2018 and 2019, again making history as the first male idol to ever top this survey ranking, and he did so for two consecutive years.

The justification of the rankings is reflected every day in his impact on various occurrences. For instance, he single-handedly raised the brand reputation for Jeju City following his visit there last December, making it a tourism hot spot [1a1b] and significantly influenced the high number of ticket sales and publicity for Marvel's 'Eternals' movie that featured his first-ever self-produced song 'Friends [2]. Jimin's brand power and influence in South Korea is second to none.

His influence is not limited just to his home country. Data from google trends ranked him as the most searched BTS member in the 'news' and 'celebrity and entertainment' categories over a period of 1 year and five years [3], numerous media outlets reported on his self-designed merch getting sold out in 0.1 seconds and causing Weverse shop servers to crash, something that had not been witnessed with any other merch release [4], and his individual cover for the GQ magazine special January 2022 edition dominated various online selling platforms in different countries as the best seller for up to a full week [5]. Moreover, Jimin has previously caused a spike in interest in some items that he has been seen with or mentioned, as his fans immediately went in search of the items [6a6b6c6d], oftentimes even leading to a sell-out of the products [7a7b7c7d]. He was also named as the reason behind BTS' global brand ambassadorship deal with Louis Vuitton, a luxury fashion brand powerhouse [8] as well as being largely influential in the highly successful Samsung #GalaxyZFlip3 campaign as highlighted by Korean media outlets [9]. Jimin's impact is felt everywhere across the globe in different fields and across different demographics.

These instances of Jimin's impact continue to be witnessed every other day as fans and celebrities alike keep purchasing and selling out some of the items affiliated with him.

According to a fan's post on March 19th, the sticker that Jimin had on his phone in a recent Vlive broadcast was instantly sold out on different e-commerce platforms in Japan, and it was sold out in the two versions in which it was available. Even without endorsing a brand, Jimin naturally draws attention to any item he has.

Fans also bought the hoodie that he had during that live broadcast, saying that Jimin has such great taste and looked perfect in the hoodie, hence their desire to have the item.

Previously, fans had also bought the earrings he had on during the recently completed #PTD_ON_STAGE_SEOUL concert, some saying they bought all the different versions of the earrings that he wore.

Celebrities are no exception to 'the Jimin effect.' Several of them have posted items they purchased clearly because of Jimin, while others mentioned their intention to buy items solely because of Jimin.

Edward Barsamian, a former style editor at Vogue and Victoria Beckham's head of editorial, posted a picture wearing a Chanel top that Jimin had worn previously. Edward has been very vocal on his affection for Jimin and his sense of fashion.

Tetris Kelly, a Billboard Host, also posted what he termed as "his extremely necessary purchases," showing Jimin's image on the item.

Kiriko Isono, a Japanese host and comedian who has also constantly stated how much she loves Jimin, also mentioned that she specifically pierced her ears in readiness to buy Jimin's self-designed earrings, even though she did not get a chance to secure them because of how fast they sold out [read here].

Jimin's brand power is unmatched, and he is unlimited in the items and demographics where he can influence consumer behavior. He is the dream brand ambassador, the Brand King that any brand would wish to have.
