Media continues to highlight BTS Jimin's economic impact

Jimin's power knows no boundaries. As an artist, he has become an influential figure in dance and music and is recognized as one of the best performers in the music industry. However, his impact has spread beyond his field of profession and into economics as well. His immense global popularity has come with unimaginable brand power in that whatever he touches becomes a hot-selling commodity with immediate effect. Korean and Japanese media outlets have reported about Jimin's influence for a long time, and the reports keep coming up as his influence further grows with each new day.

On December 16, a clip from one of Jimin's previous Vlive broadcasts where he was talking about his love for ramen was used as an introductory video on tvN's variety show 'You Quiz on the Block.' This particular episode would feature a guest who happened to be a developer of one of the popular ramen flavors. Jimin was once again fronted as a figure of influence in the popularity of ramen, thereby boosting the business endeavors of individuals such as the said guest on the show and boosting the country's economy in effect.

Jimin has been mentioned several times previously as the reason for increased exports of Korean foods like ramen to the international market. For example, on November 30, The Hankyoreh, one of South Korea's media outlets, named him as a leading figure behind the increasing popularity of tteokbokki sweet and spicy rice cakes and spicy chicken stir-fried instant noodles, which he has been seen eating in his online videos. Interest in these foods was noted to have spiked among fans in regions such as Europe and South America.

Another news outlet Channel A also attributed the increased spicy chicken ramen global exports reported early on this year to Jimin's power and influence.  In its 'Happy Morning' show, back in May (7th) of this year, the outlet listed the top three powerhouses of Korean Ramen and the 'spicy chicken ramen' ranked second, thanks to Jimin.

In the same month of May (on 27th), KBS News also aired a segment on the increased global interest in tteokbokki, particularly in countries such as China, Japan, and the US. This topic has been discussed several times in the past by different Korean media outlets. In this segment, Jimin was mentioned as the reason for the record-breaking increase in this commodity's global export, which recorded a whopping 56.7% increase between 2019 and early 2021.

Again, in October of 2020, media reports in South Korea indicated that Samyang Foods' Spicy Chicken Ramen had depicted a noticeable increase in sales in the US and China following the online attention drawn by videos of Jimin, who likes spicy ramen.

There is a general consensus in South Korea that Jimin's popularity has greatly contributed to the growing popularity of Korean foods in the global market.

Meanwhile, in Japan, Kiriko Isono spoke of her love for Jimin, emphasizing his sincerity and transparency in his music, dance, and talk as the qualities that have made her love him very much and become such a big fan of his. The comedian, host, and actress has repeatedly expressed her love for Jimin for his art and for his personality, saying, "he is really an angel." Here is the transcript from the show.

Jimin has also received praise recently for his artistry from Kang Myung-seok, a cultural critic who was a MAMA judge. As reported by Korean media, Myung-seok emphasized that "Jimin is a symbolic artist who is the flower of the awards ceremony" and that "he is the reason why anyone should watch MAMA."

Jimin continues to leave his mark in every field, within and outside of his profession, for his star aura and the influence that comes with it. He is the pride of South Korea for his contribution to his country's economic performance as well cultural impact, and he is an artist that has become a role model for many new artists and will be remembered for generations to come for his unmatched performances.
