Actor Yoon Hee Seok has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friend and fellow actor Lee Sun Kyun, remembering him on the second anniversary of his passing.
Yoon, who was a first-generation alumnus of the Korea National University of Arts’ School of Drama alongside Lee, shared a memorial post on social media on January 5. The two were close friends and members of an alumni gathering known as “Uyu Budan.” Lee Sun Kyun passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 48.
Posting photos taken at Lee’s gravesite, Yoon wrote, “Already two years. I still miss you, and it still hurts. 2026.1.5 Uyu Budan.” The images drew attention to an inscription engraved on Lee’s headstone that read, “Everything feels missed today… I love you,” underscoring the deep affection and longing felt by those he left behind.
Yoon has continued to honor Lee’s memory, having also shared a tribute on the first anniversary of his death last year.
Lee Sun Kyun's wife, actress Jeon Hye Jin is set to return to television later this year through JTBC’s upcoming drama 'New Employee Kang Chairman'.
Meanwhile, a former police officer was given a suspended prison sentence for leaking investigative details in the late actor’s drug case, while a journalist involved was fined, after the court found their actions undermined public trust despite acknowledging limited impact on the investigation.
