2PM will reunite as a full group to meet fans in Japan in celebration of the 15th anniversary of their Japanese debut.
According to industry sources on January 6 KST, 2PM is preparing for a series of live performances in Japan during the first half of this year. After holding concerts in both Korea and Japan in 2023 to mark their 15th anniversary since debut, the members decided to reunite once again to thank Japanese fans for their long-standing support, commemorating 15 years since their official debut in Japan.
2PM debuted in Korea in 2008 and made their Japanese debut in May 2011. Even before their official launch in Japan, the group drew approximately 25,000 attendees to their debut showcase, signaling their explosive local impact. Within just two years, they performed at Tokyo Dome, attracting a total of 110,000 fans across two days and establishing themselves as a leading force during the height of K-pop’s global expansion.
Now celebrating their 18th anniversary as a group, the 2PM members remain active across music, acting, and variety entertainment.
Lee Junho has successfully balanced his career as both an actor and a singer, becoming one of the most reliable names in Korean television. Since beginning his acting career in earnest in 2019, he has appeared in a string of successful dramas including 'The Red Sleeve', 'King the Land', 'Typhoon Company', and most recently 'Cash Hero'. Leveraging 2PM’s popularity, he also debuted as a solo artist in Japan in 2013 and continued his activities there with a successful solo fan concert last year.
Jang Wooyoung, Nichkhun, and Jun. K remain with JYP Entertainment. Known for his strong variety sense, Jang Wooyoung has been active on entertainment programs, including Netflix’s 'Screwballs', where he showcased his comedic presence, as well as serving as an MC on a dating reality show. He also returned to music with a mini-album in the latter half of last year.
Jun. K, who sparked renewed interest in 2PM with the viral resurgence of his self-composed song "My House" in 2020, marked his 10th solo debut anniversary this year and released a solo album last year. Nichkhun continues to connect with audiences through his YouTube channel 'Khun’s Cells'.
Ok Taecyeon has focused on acting and received the Excellence Award in the miniseries category at the KBS Drama Awards last year for 'The First Night With the Duke'. During his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude by naming his fellow 2PM members. Hwang Chansung remains active as both a singer and actor, releasing albums and touring in Japan while also appearing in the Korean drama 'Good Woman Busemi', which concluded in November last year.
2PM’s most recent full-group album was 'MUST', released in 2021. Despite their busy individual schedules, the members have consistently expressed their commitment to group activities and their fans, known as Hottest. In a previous interview, Jang Wooyoung stated, “No matter how busy we are with solo activities, we are always thinking about showing new music and new performances as 2PM.”
As several second- and third-generation K-pop groups announce full-group activities this year, 2PM’s reunion adds to expectations for a particularly vibrant year in K-pop.
