Australian dance crew AG SQUAD has accepted the apologies of dancers Honey J and Aiki following criticism over their remarks during a reaction video related to Mnet’s dance competition show 'Street Woman Fighter' (abbreviated as 'SWF').
On June 24, AG SQUAD posted an official statement on their social media account, referencing the recent controversy surrounding comments made by the two dancers — both members of the BUMSUP crew currently appearing on 'SWF'.
The situation unfolded after a YouTube reaction video posted on June 21 featured Honey J, Aiki, and Hyojin Choi watching the first episode of 'SWF'. During a battle scene between BUMSUP member Gabi and AG SQUAD dancer Danika, Honey J made a controversial remark, saying, “Is that dancing? That’s just s**.” Aiki also received backlash for shouting a profanity at AG SQUAD dancer Aaliyah after a heated exchange.
Both dancers issued public apologies on June 22, expressing remorse and stating that they had apologized directly to the AG SQUAD members involved.
In response, AG SQUAD shared the following statement:
Hello everyone!
Thank you very much for your guys’ love and support at the Meet n Move event the other day. We’re so grateful to have an amazing community behind us.
We have had fans tag us in multiple posts regarding a video recently. We just wanted to state that it’s all love with us! Especially with all the crews.
We appreciate everyone’s concern and kindness. At the end of the day we’re all human and mistakes happen. We’re all about women empowerment & everything has been sorted out respectfully behind the scenes!
Love,
AG Squad
