Following the announcement of ENHYPEN member Heeseung’s departure, some fans have begun calling for the decision to be reversed.
On March 11 KST, a number of fans revealed through social media that they are preparing a truck protest demanding Heeseung’s return to the group. Fans also released a statement addressed to the group’s agency Belift Lab, urging the company to reconsider the decision.
In the statement, fans emphasized Heeseung’s role within the team, saying, “Heeseung has been the group’s de facto main vocalist, taking on key parts in many songs and playing an important role in enhancing the quality of ENHYPEN’s live performances. As fans, it is difficult to understand such a sudden decision for him to leave.”
They added that the announcement left them shocked and saddened, noting that Heeseung had served as the team’s eldest member since debut and had contributed significantly to the group’s growth through his dedication both on and off stage.
Fans also expressed concern about the impact on the group’s activities. “With important promotions ahead, losing a core vocalist will inevitably affect the team’s performances and stage composition,” the statement read. They concluded by strongly requesting that the agency seriously review the possibility of reversing the decision, saying fans would no longer remain silent on the issue.
Previously, on March 10, Belift Lab officially confirmed Heeseung’s departure. The agency explained that discussions had taken place regarding ENHYPEN’s future direction and goals, during which it became clear that Heeseung has a distinct musical path he wishes to pursue.
Despite the explanations, the unexpected nature of the announcement has left many fans feeling disappointed. While some are organizing protests calling for his return, others have expressed mixed reactions online, with comments ranging from understanding the fans’ emotions to questioning the effectiveness of protest actions.
