SM Entertainment Co-CEOs Daniel Jang and Dmitry YJ Tak, along with Chief Global Officer (CGO) Mina Jungmin Choi, have been named to Billboard’s "2026 Global Power Players" list.
On March 9 (local time), Billboard unveiled its annual “2026 Global Power Players” via its official website, recognizing influential executives driving the global music industry outside the U.S. Jang, Tak and Choi were included among this year’s honorees.
Tak has been included on the list for five consecutive years since 2022, while Jang marks his third consecutive year since 2024, reaffirming their leadership in the international music industry. Choi was named to the list for the first time, highlighting SM’s expanding global presence. As CGO, Choi oversees the global branding and international business strategy for both SM and its artists.
In 2025, SM celebrated its 30th anniversary, marking a milestone year with a range of global initiatives—including concerts, album releases, orchestral performances, and pop-up stores across Asia, the Americas, and Europe.
Earlier this January, the company also unveiled its “SM NEXT 3.0” strategy. This roadmap focuses on building a sustainable growth structure while strengthening competitiveness through balanced initiatives in new IP development and global expansion.
The “Global Power Players” list is published annually by Billboard to recognize executives who have achieved outstanding results while leading music markets outside the U.S. As Billboard noted, “At a time when artists and songs are crossing borders like never before, Billboard honors top executives driving the success of the international music business.”
