Group ENHYPEN has shared its official position regarding the departure of member Heeseung.
On March 11 KST, the group posted a message on its official social media, saying, “You must have been very surprised after seeing the announcement. The first thing we worried about was how ENGENE would feel. Since ENHYPEN always exists for ENGENE, seeing our fans worried and hurting is the most painful thing for us.”
Regarding Heeseung’s decision to leave, the members expressed their support, stating, “The time we spent together until now is too precious to put into words. That is why we respect Heeseung hyung’s decision and new beginning, and we sincerely support him.”
They added, “To our precious ENGENE who always support and cheer for us wherever we are, we will become a stronger and prouder ENHYPEN and never forget our gratitude.”
Previously, the group’s agency Belift Lab announced the news of Heeseung’s departure through the fan communication platform Weverse on March 10.
The agency explained that discussions had taken place regarding the team’s future direction and goals. “During those conversations, it became clear that Heeseung has a distinct musical vision he wants to pursue. We decided to respect his aspirations,” the statement said.
Following his departure, ENHYPEN will reorganize as a six member group.
Heeseung, who is leaving the team after six years, also shared a handwritten letter expressing his feelings. He revealed that he had long been working on personal music and had spent significant time thinking about how to share it with fans.
“Even though there was so much I wanted to show, I didn’t want to put my personal ambitions ahead of the team,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, ENHYPEN was formed through the audition program 'I-LAND' and officially debuted in November 2020. The group achieved its first triple million seller last year with its second full album 'ROMANCE UNTOLD'.
