Netizens react to reports that IZ*ONE and X1 will resume activities with original lineup and compensation

CJ ENM CEO has apologized for the vote-rigging scandal.

CJ ENM held an emergency press conference at 3 pm on the 30th at the CJ ENM Center in Sangnam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul to make an official apology for the 'Produce 101' vote-rigging scandal.

CJ ENM's CEO Heo Min Heoi stated, "I bow my head in apology to have disappointed you with the series of incidents related to Mnet. "It's heartbreaking to think of the trainees that only dreamt of debut. I'm so sorry. I'm also sorry to the fans and viewers who spent their precious time sending text votes. There is no excuse for it. It's our fault. As CEO, I feel responsible.

He also discussed the future of X1 and IZ*ONE stating, "We will also provide all possible support for the IZ*ONE and X1 members to resume activities. Considering the emotional pain and pressure that the members are experiencing along with the opinions of many fans who support the resumption of their activities, we will works to continuously discuss plans for IZ*ONE and X1 to be able to resume activities as soon as possible. This incident is our fault and not the fault of the artists who debuted or of the trainees. We earnestly request that everyone will help protect them together so there will be no more victims. We once again sincerely apologize to the many people who cherish and love Mnet.

You can read his full statement here.

  1. [+5,666, -450] Affiliates that rigged need to give up their profits too...
  2. [+6,180, -1,892] I hope CJ will pay reasonable compensation to all the trainees in the 'Produce' series who were also affected by the incident. We hope that you will take legal action against the spread of rumors and sexual harassment against the innocent members of X1 and IZ*ONE and make sure their future activities get back to normal.
  3. [+6,368, -3,356] So the member that rigged is going to stay and promote ㅋㅋdaebak!
  4. [+4,436, -2,780] I'm glad you're giving up on future profits from this. The apology feels sincere but I hope you'll be more careful in the future.
  5. [+2,573, -1,487] I'm sorry but what about the poor kids that got cheated out of their money? Am I the only one that doesn't get this? So just because they have fans we're supposed to just accept this?
  6. [+2,278, -1,404] ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋare they kidding right now? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋThey're making it sound like a minor problem with a couple of affiliate employees.
  7. [+4,090, -3,254] X1, IZ*ONE you must've had a hard time...let's fly high now!
  8. [+1,610, -909] Does it make sense that a member that rigged is still staying in the group? Are we supposed to just accept this? Take that member out! They need to suffer the consequences of their crime and not reward them with more fame and money. CJ is really taking us for fools...disband the group!
  9. [+785, -371] Only Mnet is going to give up their profits? What about the profits of the other affiliates that rigged?
  10. [+1,271, -867] Is CJ really pushing ahead with this rigged group? They must see the public as dogs and pigs ㅋㅋㅋ ㅋㅋㅋ ㅋㅋㅋ
  1. IZ*ONE
  2. X1

tbh the whole thing of them still trying to continue on with x1 and izone doesn't sit right with me, im glad to see it doesn't for many others too, yes i know they did nothing wrong, but its not FAIR to the contestants who deserved to be in the lineups but had it taken away from them thru the rigging ,its not right, money isnt gonna compensate much either, how do you even decide how much to compensate ? they were ROBBED of a CAREER, X1 and izone are making millions meanwhile they still gotta struggle to get by and try to make a name for themselves on their own with no support 🤷

also its not right to put the kids thru more hate, X1 and izone are only gonna be known as RIGGED groups, the amount of hate is gonna be large why put them thru the mental stress for what= ?? the groups are bound to disband anyway in a few years, why not disband now, and FUND re-debut solo projects for each ones who dont have pre existing groups , and the ones with pre existing groups , mnet FUND comebacks for them too, also FUND solo debuts or group debuts for EVERY trainees who was ROBBED a spot now thats FAIR

Honestly Mnet should make it possible for the participants who were rightfully supposed to be in the lineup to actually debut, I think that would be more meaningful to them then monetary compensation.

It would be nice if the viewers who spent their money votting got some monetary compensation tho, they basically took their money being totally aware their votes weren't going to matter.
