Moon Byul of MAMAMOO is opening a one-of-a-kind “emotional laundromat” with the release of her highly anticipated fourth mini album ‘laundri’, dropping August 20th at 6 PM KST on major music platforms.

The title track, "Goodbyes and Sad Eyes", features an addictive band sound built on a bouncy guitar riff and crisp drum top line. Layered with tension and emotional depth, the track expresses the lightness one feels after a breakup, all conveyed with Moon Byul’s unique vocal tone. With choreography directed by Jay-Rick, the quirky and bold performance is expected to capture the eyes and ears of listeners around the world.

The music video, released alongside the album, depicts Moon Byul activating an “emotion washing machine” to symbolize emotional release. As she clears out belongings tied to a past relationship, she also lets go of lingering feelings—ultimately reclaiming her sense of freedom. Enhanced with animation graphics, the video offers a visually rich experience, further elevated by Moon Byul’s trendsetting visuals and styling.

Beyond the title track, ‘laundri’ includes a total of 8 songs:

  • "Cotton": a soft, cozy track likened to fabric, expressing the wish to always be close
  • "Da Capo": revisits long-held emotions like pulling out a pair of vintage overalls
  • "Chocolate Tea": delicately weaves transparent feelings like a sheer blouse
  • "DRIP": delivers restrained sensuality and subtle charm
  • "Over You": wraps raw emotions in the warmth of pajamas
  • "ICY BBY": cool but sweet like ice cream, leaving a lingering trace
  • "Take-off (이륙)": captures freedom and excitement at high altitude

Moon Byul participated in the writing and composing of ‘Cotton’, ‘Over You’, and ‘Take-off’, and contributed lyrics to ‘Da Capo’, ‘Chocolate Tea’, and ‘ICY BBY’, adding depth and emotional nuance throughout the record. With her high level of involvement, she once again proves her growth as a solo artist, showcasing a richer musical identity.

The album title ‘laundri’ is a stylized take on the word “laundry,” swapping the final “y” with an “i” to represent Moon Byul’s personal touch. The album metaphorically portrays various emotional states through the process of cleansing, much like a trip to the laundromat. With this “emotional laundromat” now open, Moon Byul offers a well-crafted album that promises to leave a lasting impression on listeners.

‘laundri’ is officially available starting August 20th at 6 PM KST on all major streaming platforms.
