On August 16, EXO member and solo artist Doh Kyung Soo (D.O.) held a full-scale concert in the Philippines for the first time ever. The ‘DO It!’ show marked his return to the country a year after his two-day sold-out ‘Bloom’ fan concert.
“I’m always surprised whenever I visit [the Philippines],” Kyung Soo said. “Your energy is really different from the very start.”
Kyung Soo kicked off the show with “Do you remember?,” “Nobody Knows It,” and “Wonder,” filling the Mall of Asia Arena with his flawless live vocals.
His setlist also included fan favorites like “Mars,” “I’m Gonna Love You,” “Popcorn,” “Somebody,” and “Rose.” The vocalist also performed soothing stages of songs from his recent full-length album, ‘BLISS,’ including “In Another Life,” “SING ALONG!,” and “Where You Were.”
During one of the segments, Kyung Soo shared, “While I was working on the ‘BLISS’ album, I made it hoping that fans would feel a sense of courage and warmth while listening to it.”
He added that while performing the songs on stage, he could really feel that everyone was listening, and that’s where he gets his energy.
“Thank you very much,” he said. “I will continue to be an artist who delivers these kinds of songs.”
To the delight of his fans, Kyung Soo returned for one of his sets and performed the chorus of EXO’s hit song, “Love Me Right.” The crowd erupted in cheers and sang along with him.
“Every time I perform EXO songs, it really makes me happy,” he said.
Toward the end of the show, a fan video was displayed on the screen. After watching it, the crowd screamed that he was going to cry from the support.
In response, Kyung Soo laughed softly and said that he doesn’t usually cry. “I can count the times I’ve cried in my life.” He even posed the question, “Will that time [me crying] ever come?”
Kyung Soo added that whenever he feels like tearing up, he tries to stop it.
“Thank you for coming and cheering on me. I hope this day becomes a really beautiful memory for you,” he said. “I give you a promise that I shall return.”
