Singer Wendy expressed her gratitude as her radio program ‘Wendy’s Young Street’ on SBS PowerFM celebrated its one-year anniversary.
On August 19th KST, through her agency Ascend, Wendy shared, “I want to sincerely thank all the listeners who congratulated us on the one-year anniversary. I’ll continue to be with you and make your evenings joyful.”
Wendy first joined ‘Wendy’s Young Street’ as a DJ on August 19th last year. Known for her bright and energetic personality, she has since built a strong rapport with her audience. She previously hosted the show from 2021 to 2023, and after a one-year break, returned to continue her run—cementing her place as one of the show’s longest-serving DJs.
Through various segments like ‘Youngs Labs’, where she answers listener questions, and ‘Youngs Maps’, which revisits daily stories from her fans (affectionately called “Wanso”), Wendy keeps communication open and lively.
She also showcased her versatility as a host during the ‘Special Guest Corner – Who’s on Young Street?’, smoothly leading conversations with uniquely charming guests. Her skills were recognized at the 2022 SBS Entertainment Awards, where she won the Radio DJ Award.
Looking ahead, Wendy is gearing up for a major return to music. She recently announced her upcoming solo album release in September and revealed plans for her first solo world tour. The new album will be her first in about a year and six months since her second mini-album ‘Wish You Hell’, and her first since signing with Ascend.
The tour will kick off with ‘2025 Wendy 1st World Tour ‘W:EALIVE' in Seoul’ on September 20th at Jangchung Arena in central Seoul. Fans are eagerly anticipating what’s next for Wendy as she embarks on this exciting new chapter.
