A man in his 20s has been arrested after posting a bomb threat targeting virtual idol group PLAVE’s upcoming concert.
On August 20th KST, the Yongin Seobu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that they had apprehended suspect A on charges of public intimidation.
According to the police, on August 19th at 1:50 PM, A posted a photo promoting PLAVE’s encore concert—scheduled for November at Gocheok Sky Dome—on his personal social media account, including the message “I will plant a bomb”. The threatening post quickly sparked concern.
A report was filed at 2:00 PM, and within approximately two and a half hours, police tracked down and arrested A in the Yongin Seobu precinct area. During questioning, A stated that the post was “just a prank.” The case is expected to be handed over to the local police station with jurisdiction over A’s residence for further investigation.
PLAVE is not the only party to have been affected by a false bomb threat. On August 15th, the production crew of KBS 2TV’s ‘Documentary Three Days (Docu 3il)’ also had to halt filming due to a similar incident.

The show was filming a special episode marking the 10-year anniversary of a spontaneous interview conducted at Andong Station on August 15th, 2015. At that time, a VJ had interviewed two college students who suggested, “Let’s meet here again on August 15th, 2025.” The video recently resurfaced online, prompting KBS to produce a special follow-up episode, even though the program had ended in 2022.
However, just as the reunion was set to take place on the morning of August 15th, at 7:37 AM, a comment appeared in the YouTube livestream chat threatening to detonate a bomb at the Old Andong Station Plaza, forcing the production to stop filming.
Police searched the area but found no explosives. Authorities later traced the comment to a male high school student living in Seoul, who was subsequently taken into custody and transferred to the Andong Police Station for investigation.
As both PLAVE and ‘Documentary Three Days’ have now been disrupted by false bomb threats, public outrage over these reckless acts continues to grow online.
