Jung Il Woo will be returning to the weekend drama scene.
On June 17, KBS2 confirmed, “Jung Il Woo has been cast as the male lead ‘Lee Ji Hyuk’ in the upcoming weekend drama 'Splendid Days.' He will greet viewers with a new role and fresh charm."
'Splendid Days' is a family melodrama centered on the concept that everyone has their own “splendid days,” whether in the past or future; these moments carry different meanings for each individual. The series explores these meaningful and emotional periods in life.
Jung Il Woo will portray Lee Ji Hyuk, a character who is successful in work and love and admired in all aspects of life. He is a confident and cool-headed individual, but also possesses a sharp sense of humor.
Despite his seemingly glamorous exterior, Ji Hyuk’s inner world is quite different. Having hit rock bottom at one point in life, he overcomes hardships and ultimately searches for the true meaning of life, delivering a heartfelt message to viewers.
A production representative stated, “Jung Il Woo has impressed audiences with his performances in every project. Please look forward to the new character and acting he will bring to 'Splendid Days'.”
Jung Il Woo has showcased a wide acting spectrum through dramas such as 'Bossam: Steal the Fate,' 'Moon Embracing the Sun,' 'Haechi,' 'Cinderella and the Four Knights,' and 'Golden Rainbow.'
In addition to acting, he remains active in various fields. He recently held a solo fan meeting in Japan and continues to engage in charitable work as an ambassador for the Korean Red Cross.
Meanwhile, Jung Il Woo is also set to appear in the upcoming Korea-Vietnam joint film 'Leaving Mom Behind.'
'Splendid Days' is scheduled to premiere in August.
