On March 10, the YouTube channel alddal_cham uploaded a video titled 'Started Meddling… Got Countered by Soyou,' featuring former SISTAR member Soyou sharing candid insights about her life.
Soyou spoke about her plans regarding motherhood, saying, “I originally planned to make my body as healthy as possible at 30 and freeze my eggs. But the process turned out to be much harder than I expected. I was told I would need to get regular abdominal injections, and I have a severe fear of needles, so I thought I could not do it.”

She added, “It is not that I do not want to get married, but I started thinking if I am not going to have children, do I really need to get married? Once the thought of having kids disappeared, the idea of marriage disappeared as well. I still want to date, though.”
Soyou also opened up about her difficult childhood, recalling her family’s financial hardships: “Our home was really struggling. We were on basic livelihood support. Whenever we went to the hospital, it was always 1,500 KRW (about 1.15 USD), and at the pharmacy, 500 KRW (about 0.38 USD).”
She shared a vivid memory from middle school: “Our house was even broken into. I often lost my keys and would climb in through the window because I was afraid of getting scolded by my mom. Later, I was told that someone had seen me doing that.”
Soyou’s revelations provide a rare and personal look at the challenges she faced growing up as well as her evolving views on marriage and family.
