On January 30, the Akdong Musician duo featured on JTBC's 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator', where the MCs found wine in the siblings' fridge. They asked whose wine it was, and Suhyun responded, "No one at our house drinks alcohol. It's for cooking," to which MC Kim Sung Joo commented, "Chanhyuk is at the age to be drinking a lot."

Chanhyuk responded, "I haven't drank alcohol even once in my life. I'm famous for rejecting a drink from YG Entertainment's Yang Hyun Suk. Lee Juk sunbaenim told me that I would get a different kind of inspiration from drinking. I said I wouldn't compose a song with the help of alcohol."

good job keep it like this

Winston Tuesday, January 31, 2017

before they hit 20, the adulthood in Korea, someone interviewed the duo once and asked them the things they want to do most when they hit 20, the interviewer asked if they would want to drink after 20? they answered that they made a promise never to start drinking already. I think Maybe CEO Yang knew that and maybe wanted to see if chan hyuk would keep to his words or give in after much persuasion.

He's right, alcohol destroys brain cells. It does more harm than good but lots of asian culture involve alcohol so its kinda hard to reject tradition too

Lary_kpop Tuesday, January 31, 2017

AKMU really doesn't give a damn about YG...Plastic surgery? No, thanks.Let's get a drink? No, thanks.Go to army only later? No, thanks.Gotta love those two <3

Good for them, it's a really admirable thing to stick to in a society that has such a terrible drinking culture. It speaks to their individuality, too. They don't just go with whatever everyone else does. Chanhyuk and Suhyun seem to have good heads on their shoulders. Their parents did something right raising them. <3

Winston OshiriSisters Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Their parents are educators i think, they are both Home Schooled back in Mongolia.

kpoplolita Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Sk has a one of the biggest drinking culture so its rare to find someone who doesnt drink.

k_kid kpoplolita Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Go to Ireland. South Korea is nothing to the Irish. Those guys pound the alcohol like crazy.

Winston kpoplolita Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Yoo Jae Suk doesnt drink.

Winston k_kid Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Well based on "2015 WHO data for OECD countries - list of OECD Countries by total alchohol consumption per capita, South Korea ranked 14th (they are the only ASIAN country in the Top 20), And Ireland ranked 12th. Czech Republic and Australia took 1st and 2nd spot respectively, Portugal came in 3rd. Must be the wines.

k_kid Winston Tuesday, January 31, 2017

I went to Ireland last year and those guys can DRINK.

Winston k_kid Wednesday, February 1, 2017

I was surprised that the figures for Czech_Republic, its rated at over 100 litres per person per capita. I wonder if their health mostly importantly their liver is okay.

k_kid Winston Wednesday, February 1, 2017

Never thought Czech Republic would drink so much. I always thought a country like Mexico would be up there.

Good don't get friendly with YGs ugly ass you are too precious chanie

youcangoeatshit Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Actually if he drinks alcohol, his composition might be different and the usual flavour of his music might be different totally after that one time.

Winston youcangoeatshit Tuesday, January 31, 2017

true but people might argue that the same goes for things like Smoking and such, you have to try to know or experience it to know how it feels, but sometimes its just better not to start on something.

youcangoeatshit Winston Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Yeah so he had better weigh the pros and cons properly. I feel that he might be too young to make rational thought and feelings yet.

Winston youcangoeatshit Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Actually sometime we might be surprised when a "young person" like 20/21 yrs old can have the mature thoughts like a 30+ while a 30+ can behave like a kid still. I think his upbringing lead him to avoid the "temptations and evils" of modern society, things like Alcohol, Tobacco, Drugs, and SNS. its better to stick to things like Family and Friends if you need something to relive your stress and depression, or share your joy, instead of turning to drinking (be it for celebrating or for sadness),

bebemui Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Good for him. You don't need alcohol to be inspired when composing music.
