The cast and crew of the beloved tvN drama 'Reply 1988' are reuniting this October to celebrate the show’s 10th anniversary with a group trip, according to OSEN’s exclusive report on August 13.
The reunion trip, organized by production company Egg Is Coming (led by director Shin Won ho and writer Lee Woo jung), will take place in Gangwon Province. It will be filmed for Channel Fullmoon, YouTuber-turned-producer Na Young seok’s content brand.
Reply 1988, the third installment of the Reply series following Reply 1997 and Reply 1994, aired from November 6, 2015 to January 16, 2016. Set in a neighborhood in Ssangmun-dong during the late 1980s, the slice-of-life family drama reached a peak viewership rating of 18.8%, making it the most-watched of the trilogy.
The show launched many of its cast into stardom, including Hyeri of Girl’s Day (as Deok sun), Ryu Jun yeol, Park Bo gum, Go Kyung pyo, Lee Dong hwi, and Ryu Hye young. It also drew major attention with the now-legendary “husband debate” between characters Jung Hwan (Ryu Jun yeol) and Taek (Park Bo gum).
In addition to the younger cast, the veteran actors who played the parents—such as Sung Dong il, Lee Il hwa, Ra Mi ran, Kim Sung kyun, Kim Sun young, and Choi Moo sung—also became widely beloved for their relatable and emotional performances.

Whether Ryu Jun yeol and Hyeri will both attend the trip remains unclear. The two developed a real-life romance after the series ended, dating publicly for nearly eight years before their reported breakup in November 2023. Ryu briefly dated actress Han So hee earlier this year, leading to a wave of online buzz and speculation involving all three stars.
Despite this, the Reply 1988 cast is known for maintaining a close bond, with annual gatherings and frequent smaller get-togethers. Fans are now looking forward to what behind-the-scenes stories and nostalgic moments will be revealed through the upcoming MT (membership training) trip.
