Actress Park Ha Sun reflected on memories of her late younger brother while participating in a volunteer event.
On August 12 KST, Park took part in a sports activity program for teenagers with developmental disabilities, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s Lottery Commission’s 18th Happiness Sharing Volunteer Group.
Later, she shared an article featuring her participation, writing, “Volunteering once every two months is great. I think I had even more fun. The kids were bright and talented.”
She then added, “It made me think of my brother, and it was a day that reminded me how much better society would be if more opportunities like this were offered to everyone,” drawing attention to her personal loss.
Park’s younger brother passed away in 2019 from acute myocardial infarction (heart attack). She was known to have been especially close to him, as he had a developmental disability.
In a past appearance on JTBC’s 'Kim Je Dong’s Talk to You – Don’t Worry, Dear', Park shared her experiences caring for him. “My younger brother was a bit unwell. If the door wasn’t locked, he would leave the house,” she said. “We lived in Seoul, but sometimes we found him in Pohang or Busan. Each time, the police would find him within a day or two.”
