While a plagiarism controversy arose when SISTAR first dropped their "I Swear" MV, it appears the controversy is continuing to grow.  For those left in the dark, netizens remarked that there were too many striking resemblances between the "I Swear" MV and Tiesto's "Red Light" MV to the point they are bringing up suspicions of plagiarism.

Indeed, both MVs largely have to do with having fun after brushing off work at a diner, especially as both girls take off their apron and toss it aside to leave as the camera follows both girls from behind.

In addition, some other similar scenes include riding in open cars, jumping on beds, running into swimming pools, and washing cars with foamy pink soap.  Not to mention, the girls even strike similar poses.  Netizens are debating as some claim it is plagiarism while others claim it is just paying homage to Tiesto's MV.

Check out both MVs below and let us know what you think!

Don't blame Sistar, I bet they've never even heard of the other song, instead blame the director who's made the mv..

you gotta be a fucking idiot and ignorant thinking that this is just a coincidence when there's a solid proof right before your eyes...

Zumofu Tuesday, September 9, 2014

it's just a one in a million coincidence...

Only thing i noticed mostly was the difference in ass size xD

It's not a concept. it's purely plagiarism! but dont just blame SISTER...take a look back who's behind the music video... YES. the Director, writer and Producer.... who to blame? You judge.

Even 2 completely ;different ;genre songs can be consider as plagiarism. Example one is ;ballad and the other is rock. the melody or note in different manor/majors, reverse the original lyric can still be consider as ;plagiarism, especially when the tempo dead match!

the only time it is not considered as plagiarism is when the original writer sell the same piece to other party for alternative way to revive the song, or the song is complete sold to other label/party for 'versions' or 'remake', then its legit!

Big deal... lots of artists plagiarize other artists' vids... when they're accused, they'll just say they were "inspired" by the other artists' concept. This case isn't any worse than what happen to Ivy and her "FFVII: AC inspired" MV... that time, Square Enix really took it seriously and took legal actions. In this case, I don't think Tiesto even cares...

Even so, both artists (Sistar and Tiesto) would be grateful to each other because news like this one will increase views on their respective MVs... LOL, just kidding... :3

wow they r kinda similar... ;

sicafan226 Sunday, September 7, 2014

Does Tiesto care?

pure_acid_dream Sunday, September 7, 2014

Though I can see the similarities, I'm wondering if there's like a visual loophole for copyright laws. Like from what I heard when it comes to actual music with copyright laws to avoid infringing you can only use a certain amount of the same notes before you can claim plagiarism. So I wonder if it's the same for a video. You can have similar scenes but for only x amount of time?

why the hell the mv is 15 rated when some of the part they only wear bikini and showing the cleavage

b2utifularmy Saturday, September 6, 2014

I didn't know wearing a bikini was considered 19

kpopisthelyfe Saturday, September 6, 2014

It's just bikinis not bras&panties.

hanichu Sunday, September 7, 2014

@b2utifularmy 15 not 19 xD it's a bit different and that's how it works in Korea xD

b2utifularmy Sunday, September 7, 2014

@hanichu the person up there said it shouldn't be rated 15 so obviously he meant it should be rated 19 because that's the next rating up. I'm not stupid but thanks for trying to explain-
