BIGBANG’s T.O.P (Choi Seung Hyun) has taken home the Best Supporting Actor award at the 2025 Gold Derby TV Awards, edging out co-star Lee Byung Hun in the same category.
According to the Gold Derby website on August 19 (KST), Netflix’s hit series 'Squid Game' earned a total of six awards, including Best Drama Series. Lead actor Lee Jung Jae, who played Seong Gi Hun, won Best Actor in a Drama, while Kang Ae Shim (Oh Il Nam’s wife Jang Geum Ja) took Best Supporting Actress, and Gong Yoo, known for his role as the “ddakji man,” won Best Guest Performer. The ensemble cast was also honored with the Best Ensemble Award.

Among the highlights was T.O.P’s win as Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Thanos, triumphing over veteran actor Lee Byung Hun, who played the Front Man. His victory drew particular attention, as he surpassed one of Korea’s most established stars.
The Gold Derby TV Awards recognize excellence across drama, comedy, animation, and film, with 30 categories in total.
