On August 18th KST, it was reported that Song Ha Yoon has filed a second lawsuit against individual A, who first raised allegations of school bullying against her.
According to reports, the second lawsuit was filed on July 22nd, accusing A of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation) and obstruction of business through fraudulent means.
In response to the second lawsuit, A commented, “It feels like she wants to take this all the way. I can’t see a hint of remorse from her.”
A further claimed, “It’s no different than the perpetrator suing the victim. Had she just apologized, I wouldn’t have exposed anything. She’s the one who’s making the situation worse.”
A, who maintains that she never spread falsehoods or distorted the facts, plans to return to Korea soon to cooperate with the police investigation. She previously stated that she is a U.S. citizen legally residing in the country as an overseas Korean.
“When I arrive in Korea, I will file a counter-suit against Song Ha Yoon for false accusation,” A declared firmly.
In relation to the matter, Lawfirm JI-EUM, representing Song Ha Yoon, confirmed, “It is true that we have filed an additional lawsuit against A.”
Last April, A appeared on JTBC’s 'Crime Chief', alleging that she was summoned by her senior S (identified as Song Ha Yoon) during her second year of high school and was slapped repeatedly for 90 minutes without reason. She also claimed that Song was forced to transfer schools due to other bullying incidents. Song’s agency has denied all such claims.
On July 2nd, nearly a year after the initial accusations, Song Ha Yoon’s side announced, “We have gathered substantial evidence to prove that A’s claims are false. Based on this, we have filed a criminal complaint against A for defamation and obstruction of business.”
Her legal representative added, “Song Ha Yoon never engaged in any violence against A during their high school years, nor was she forced to transfer due to school violence. We have submitted evidence including official documents from public institutions, notarized statements, and other materials that prove these claims are false.”
In turn, A posted two statements on online communities, denying Song Ha Yoon’s claims and stating, “I have never spread false information or manipulated the facts.”
She reiterated her assertion that Song Ha Yoon was indeed forcibly transferred due to school bullying, not by choice.
Regarding claims that she is avoiding the investigation by remaining in the U.S., A responded, “I have already submitted written statements and supporting evidence, and have been in contact with the police. I have cooperated fully with the investigation. There is no legal basis to forcibly summon an overseas resident at great financial and personal cost.”
