Lim Dohwa, formerly known as Chanmi of AOA, has shared her honest thoughts on the group’s past discord and her life after idol activities.
On the August 18th KST episode of TV Chosun’s ‘Lovers of Joseon’, Lim reflected on the rumors of discord within the group and updated viewers on her current life.
Addressing the past speculation, she shared, “I’m still in contact with the members I performed with until the end—Jimin, Hyejeong, Seolhyun, and Yuna. We continue to keep in touch,” emphasizing the strong bond she still shares with them.
Lim candidly spoke about the emotional toll the situation took on her, stating, “We worked so fiercely to build everything up, but I experienced how easily it could all come crashing down. It made me realize how meaningless quick success can be.”
When the production team asked how it felt to start over from the bottom, she responded, “I’m the type who enjoys overcoming challenges. Having a place to climb back up to makes me happy, and I find real joy in building things step by step.”
The episode also revealed Lim’s wedding plans. “We’re already living together, so people around us see us as a married couple,” she said affectionately about her fiancé, who is reportedly five years older and a church friend.
AOA rose to fame in the 2010s with hits like "Heart Attack", "Short Hair", and "Miniskirt", but following internal conflict and sudden controversy in 2020, the group ceased activities and effectively disbanded. Since then, Lim Dohwa has been rebuilding her career as an actress, steadily rising from the ground up.
