Singer Lee Hyori has said goodbye to her beloved dog Seoksam, who had been battling terminal cancer.
On August 16, Lee Hyori shared photos of Seoksam while writing, “Farewell, our Seoksam,” showing the dog’s bright, happy moments. She celebrated Seoksam’s life by sharing images of him smiling and enjoying his time with her.
Lee Hyori has a long history of adopting and caring for rescued dogs. She adopted Sunsim from an animal shelter in 2010 and later welcomed several more pets into her home. After losing Sunsim in 2020 and Moka in 2023, Lee Hyori had been living with five dogs, including Seoksam, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Recently, on tvN’s 'You Quiz on the Block,' Lee Hyori opened up about Seoksam’s illness. She recalled, “Seoksam’s belly had grown because he was in the final stage of cancer. As I prepared to say goodbye, I thought a lot about him. What stands out most in my memory is the time Seoksam disobeyed me the most.”
She shared a touching anecdote: “Seoksam once ran after a wild dog. I chased him by car and found him playing with the wild dogs. While preparing to let him go, what I remember most is that moment—him doing what made him happy, even if it meant not listening to me. Seeing that, I realized how much I truly loved him.”
Following her emotional farewell, fans have offered heartfelt condolences and support to Lee Hyori, sharing their sympathy over the loss of Seoksam.
