A few days ago, a teenage girl was discovered collapsed in an 11th floor studio located in Dong-gu, Gwangju, earnestly asking for someone to save her.

The 17-year-old girl was only in her underwear with her hands and feet tied by plastic duct tape.  An employee who works next door was returning to retrieve a forgotten notebook when the girl was discovered.  The employee took off the tape, covered her exposed and abused body covered in bruises, and hurried to the police station with her.

There, she testified that for multiple days, men around her age, Mr. Hong (20) and Mr. Im (18), both of whom she met back on June 2, locked her up, abused her, and forced her into prostitution.  She had met both of them through a chatting application on her smart phone.  They said they would provide her with room and board, so they should live as roommates.  It's been about a month since she had run away from home and she needed a place to stay, so she accepted.  At first, they lived together fine, even making food to eat together. Gradually, the two men began to put pressure on her.  They told her that she had to lose some weight, making her exercise in their home.  Finally, they brought over men she did not know and forced her into prostitution.

According to the girl, she was forced into prostitution about ten times.  Mr. Hong then snatched the money from it and Mr. Lim sexually assaulted her.  She was unable to endure it any longer, so back on June 10, she tried to escape, but was caught by Mr. Hong who hit her on the thighs and more with a broom.  For five days straight, she was locked in the studio.  So that she couldn't escape, the men took off her clothes and tied her hands and feet.  Regardless, she tried to do something about it anyway.  When left alone, she made her way to the front door and managed to open it after which she stuck out her head and asked to be saved.  The hall was empty as it was late at night, but luckily, the employee came back and found her.

Mr. Hong was taken in for charges of imprisonment and special injuries.  There was sufficient evidence for the incarceration and abuse, so he acknowledged those charges, but regarding the forced prostitution and sexual assault, he said, "That's not true at all."

The police plans to obtain their phone records and CCTVs.  Meanwhile, the girl is recovering at a hospital and treating the bruises all over her body.

see kids.... when you think you have it bad at home and feel like running away.... THIS is the reality out there.... don't do it... just take the nagging you get from your parents... its better than being raped and sold to prostitution!

Poor girl, good thing she was able to escape. But all this could of have been prevented if she wasn't that stupid.

I'm usually not the SJW type, but you can't blame the victim like this. From what was explained above (there may be more to the story that wasn't said) she was in a tough spot and found help from 2 people she thought she could trust. Yes, if she was more discerning she wouldn't have been in that situation, but there are plenty of other reasons she ended up there. No reason to blame the victim when there are 2 perfectly good targets for hate: the assholes who locked her up against her will

Poor girl. She trusted them too much while talking to either of them on chat. You can never trust people online. Hope she gets better and goes home to her family where she can be safe again. The guys that locked her up are sick af!

But she ran away from home which makes me think that possibly her home may not be a safe environment either? I hope that her family are people who she can trust and that she can eventually recover from this and just live a happy life :(

mmmm.... she wasn't really smart either... ok she's been abused but looking at the fact, she waited the 10th client to decide to stop the prostitution... I mean... she's a little slow.. isn't she ... ???????? Anyway, I don't want to blame her, it's not her fault, but for sure, things would have been VERY differents if I were her...

Okay, facts straight. She was abused, forced in prostitution, taped up, udressed, and you say she waited? Do you really think she had any chance to do so? As they said, she was only able to wrestle her way outside when it was dark, she was lucky someone passed by this time. Maybe she did so other times, but just wasn't heard before

You don't read too well do you sport? She was already being held captive and FORCED into prostitution at that point. That's why the article said she tried to escape after the tenth man. You don't need to escape from a situation where you could just up and leave.

Yeah, things would have been VERY different if it had been you much like how things would have been VERY different if you had read the article.

i hoped they get locked up for life. goodness it sounds like they had planned to lure this woman into prostitution looking at how readily they had customers for her. and for them to be so young and yet still be able to do such cruel things. goodness me.

It should never be easy to blame the girl. Anyone, boy, girl, teen, child, kid whatever, should be able to stay with whoever they want without being raped. You should be able to meet people online without expecting to be raped. Now I know that's different from reality, but that's how IT SHOULD BE. Now when the girl meets these guys and they propose she can stay with them for a bit. How in the world would she know they'd end up being rapists? She doesn't know. They could've just been KIND people that were trying to help a girl. Simply. Unfortunately the worlds circumstances with rapists, murderers, abusers and so on and so forth, FORCE us to be conscious and suspicious of every little actions or nice actions by other human beings. How can you blame a 17 year old girl for being immature and live with 2 guys that said they'd help her with accommodation, after running away from home with nowhere to stay? She said yes to live with them, no yes to rape and torture. Those 2 things SHOULD not go hand in hand. For all you know those people could really have just had good intentions from the start, but ended up raping and torturing her because the opportunity was there or they could've planned it from the start. Either way it's never the girls fault, especially if it's PROVEN rape victims.
