Those who sexually harassed ILLIT have been referred to the prosecution, and the creators of deepfake videos have been sentenced to prison.
On June 30, the group’s agency, Belift Lab, posted an update on Weverse, stating, “We are continuously collecting malicious content to protect ILLIT’s rights,” and shared the latest developments in ongoing legal action.
ILLIT has been regularly filing lawsuits, and in addition to that, they have taken action against individuals who engaged in sexual harassment content and those who created deepfake videos.
The agency first filed criminal complaints against individuals who posted sexually offensive content. Belift Lab stated, “The identities of the suspects and the details of the charges have already been confirmed, and they have been referred to the prosecution.”
Perpetrators who created deepfake videos have been sentenced to prison. The agency noted, “Even when using anonymous platforms like Telegram, tracking is possible through international judicial cooperation.”
The agency firmly stated, “There will be no settlements or leniency for acts such as spreading false information, defamation, or sexual harassment,” adding, “We want to make it clear once again that we are taking all possible legal measures.”
They also promised to continue taking strong action based on fan reports and internally gathered evidence, concluding, “We will do our best to ensure our artists can promote in a safe and healthy environment.”
