Rising K-pop boy group TWS has made their mark by landing the digital cover of NME, the renowned British music magazine.

On June 30 (local time), NME released a feature article and digital photo spread on its official website. The six members appeared in colorful, casual outfits, exuding fresh, youthful energy and charming visuals.

The magazine spotlighted TWS’s rapid rise since their debut with “Plot Twist” last year, noting how they quickly captivated fans both in Korea and around the world. NME described the group’s music as “bright and hopeful, offering comfort. Their songs tell simple yet profound stories of growing up, delivered with sincerity and optimism.”

In a virtual interview with NME, the members opened up about their music and message.

Kyungmin shared, “Our music captures the emotions of an immature and uncertain time, but also includes curiosity and the power of positivity.”

Jihoon added, “‘Boyhood Pop,’ our signature genre, isn’t just about being bright or refreshing. It’s about telling stories that we, right now, can genuinely relate to. As we keep growing, we’ll be able to express a broader range of emotions.”

Their close bond as a team was also evident. Leader Shinyu said, “We’re sure to face challenges ahead, but I want to learn how to overcome those with strength. The moment we chant our team cheer before a performance is when I feel most like TWS.”

TWS has consistently been highlighted as one of the most promising emerging groups in global music this year. They were the only K-pop boy group included in “The NME 100: Essential Emerging Artists for 2025”, and were also selected as Billboard’s K-pop Rookie of the Month for January.

Now, TWS is setting its sights on global expansion powered by their signature “K-freshness” energy. On July 2, the group will release their Japanese debut single “Nice to see you again” (Japanese title: はじめまして), which captures the sparkling emotions of summer and the thrill of everyday moments. The track is expected to showcase the group’s refreshing charm and solidify their role as new “youth icons” in the industry.
