Rapper Swings personally addressed rumors about having azoospermia during a public broadcast variety show.
On the March 9 broadcast of 'But Seriously!,' Swings appeared as a guest when host Tak Jae Hoon brought up the rumor, saying, “I heard someone who’s good at everything has no sperm.” Swings then carefully clarified the details behind the claim.
Swings explained, “About eight years ago, I made a big decision. I decided I would never have children, so I went to the hospital and got a vasectomy.” The timing coincided with when he was publicly dating actress and model Lim Bo Ra.
At the time, he had chosen a child-free lifestyle and went ahead with the vasectomy. He also revealed that the doctor warned him that even if he later underwent a reversal surgery, the chances of pregnancy could decrease with each passing year.
His mindset changed two years ago. Swings said, “Two years ago, I suddenly felt like I wanted to have a child. It wasn’t that I immediately wanted to start a family, but maybe it was a hormonal change. I just started finding kids really adorable. So I decided to get the reversal surgery.”
He also candidly shared moments from the procedure. Just before the surgery, female nurses approached him, saying they were fans, leaving him embarrassed. Despite being in pain after the operation, he even gave them autographs. When he later visited another hospital to check the results, he had to use a public restroom for the test and joked that he walked around the hallway hiding his face out of fear of being recognized.
Swings continued, “You can see the results right away. The doctor said, ‘Huh? One?’ and counted eight. He told me that with that number, pregnancy would be impossible. It really broke my heart. I tried to forget about it for a year.” He then added, “But two months ago, I went to another hospital and there were a lot. Now there are a lot.”
He also explained how the azoospermia rumor spread. “I briefly talked about this on another YouTube channel, and then articles came out saying I had azoospermia. They even called me a ‘seedless watermelon.’ I wanted to clarify that here.”
The rumor first began after he briefly mentioned his vasectomy and reversal on his YouTube channel in December last year. Due to time constraints in the video, the context was omitted, which led to inaccurate reports claiming he had azoospermia.
Born in 1986, Swings debuted in 2008 with the EP 'Upgrade' and gained wider recognition after finishing third on 'Show Me the Money 2.' Since then, he has been active across multiple fields as a rapper, producer, and entrepreneur, and recently expanded into acting. He is set to appear in the upcoming film 'Tazza 4: The Song of Beelzebub,' where he plays the role of “King Kong,” a high school friend of characters portrayed by Byun Yo Han and Noh Jae Won.
