Actor Lee Jun Young and IVE member Jang Won Young have been selected as the official MCs for the upcoming ‘Music Bank Global Festival in Japan.’
According to reports on September 23, the two stars will host the large-scale KBS 2TV event, scheduled for December 13–14 at the Tokyo National Stadium, a venue with a capacity of over 60,000. The stadium is considered a “dream stage” even for Japanese artists, raising expectations for the historic festival.
Launched in 2023, the "Music Bank Global Festival " is KBS’s year-end project that brings K-pop fans together across borders. In Korea, it is presented as the "Gayo Daechukje Global Festival", while in Japan it is branded as the "Music Bank Global Festival in Japan".
For Jang Won Young, this marks a return to familiar ground: she previously served as the 37th Music Bank MC in 2021 and has hosted the "Gayo Daechukje" since that year. As one of K-pop’s most prominent idols, she continues to strengthen her reputation as a trusted festival host.
Joining her is Lee Jun Young, a rising star who began as a member of U-KISS and has since built a strong acting career with appearances in Netflix’s "D.P"., "Hope or Dope", and "Weak Hero Class 2". He is also set to star in the upcoming KBS drama "24-Hour Fitness Club". Recently, he showcased his versatility by serving as MC for the "2025 MBC University Song Festival "and appearing in "Hangout with Yoo’s 80s Seoul Song Festival".
With the festival expanding to Tokyo’s largest venue, excitement is high to see what chemistry Lee Jun Young and Jang Won Young will bring to the stage as co-hosts.
