Singer Seo In Young, once famously known as a “luxury fashion icon” for her extravagant lifestyle and massive designer shoe collection, has revealed a dramatic change in both her environment and mindset.
On April 1, a video uploaded to her YouTube channel offered fans a rare glimpse into her current life in Namyangju, where she now lives a quieter, more modest existence away from the spotlight of Seoul.
During the home tour, Seo stunned viewers by showing her nearly empty shoe closet. “At my peak, I owned around 800 pairs of shoes,” she said. “I’ve cleared most of them out.” She candidly explained the reason behind selling her prized possessions. “Part of me wanted to declutter, but to be honest, I needed cash. I sold them because I needed money,” she admitted with disarming honesty.
Her confession did not stop there. Seo also revealed that she had once owned dozens of luxury Hermès bags, but has since sold all but two. “After selling them, I realized the money added up quite nicely,” she added, surprising the production team.
Reflecting on her once-glamorous lifestyle, Seo shared a more introspective perspective. “After experiencing all of that, it does not mean much anymore,” she said. “I have changed a lot. I finally feel like I am truly living again.”
Now based in Namyangju, Seo spends more time with her family and leads a noticeably simpler life. Saying she wanted to “disconnect from the material world,” she has traded high heels for sneakers and enjoys small, everyday pleasures such as listening to music, dancing at home, and taking time to rest.
Through this latest video, Seo not only unveiled her home for the first time but also opened up about her past spending habits and evolving values, continuing to connect with fans through her honest and unfiltered storytelling.
