Soyou is drawing attention for her slim yet toned physique.
On March 27, Soyou posted a video from an advertisement shoot on her Instagram with the caption, “Guess what I filmed.” In the clip, she is fully immersed in the shoot, effortlessly pulling off a tight red outfit that clearly highlights her body lines.
She previously revealed that she lost around 20 kg (44lbs), dropping from 68 kg (150 lbs) to 49 kg (108 lbs). In the video, Soyou showcases not just a thin figure but a healthy, firm body, drawing admiration from viewers.
Earlier, on March 10, Soyou appeared on the YouTube alddal_cham, where she shared her personal weight-loss method. She said, “After starting a low-carb, high-fat diet, my cravings decreased a lot,” adding, “This time, I completely overhauled my diet. For over a year, I ate everything while dieting, but now I eat very strictly.”
The low-carb, high-fat (LCHF) diet is a method that reduces carbohydrate intake while increasing fat consumption to promote weight loss. By limiting carbs, insulin secretion is suppressed, preventing fat storage and instead encouraging the body to use fat as a primary energy source. In carb-heavy diets like those common in Korea, LCHF has gained attention as a potentially effective weight management strategy.
However, some experts caution against its initial weight-loss effects. On March 30 (local time), the New York Post reported that early weight loss from LCHF diets is likely due to water loss caused by reduced carbohydrate intake, rather than actual fat reduction.
An expert explained, “A significant portion of the weight lost at the beginning is water, not fat,” warning that people should not mistake this for real fat loss or push themselves too hard with the diet. Rapid loss of body water can lead to serious side effects, including muscle loss, slowed metabolism, decreased energy levels, and rebound weight gain, requiring extra caution.
