ILLIT are set to introduce a unique album concept that blends music with beauty trends.
On April 1 KST, BELIFT LAB announced that the group will release a special merch version of their upcoming fourth mini album 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI', featuring a gua sha inspired ceramic object.
According to the agency, the merch album will include a design object inspired by the shape of a gua sha tool, along with a pouch, mini CD, lyric booklet, and photo cards. Gua sha, a popular beauty massage tool, has been reimagined with ILLIT’s signature kitschy and playful aesthetic.
BELIFT LAB explained, “We wanted to create an object that could intuitively convey the message of ‘getting ready’ from the track GRWM (Get Ready With Me). The gua sha shape, which evokes a self care routine, felt like the perfect fit.” The design also incorporates a dog silhouette, reflecting the mood of another track, “paw, paw!”
ILLIT have previously gained attention for incorporating items that resonate with younger audiences into their albums. From in ear earphones for bomb to a Little Mimi keyring doll for 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE', the group has consistently delivered creative and collectible concepts that appeal beyond music.
