SHINee has given fans their first full-group update in a year, with all four members gearing up for a highly anticipated solo concert. The spotlight is especially on Key, who is resuming activities after a five-month hiatus following the controversy over the so-called “Injection Aunt” illegal medical allegations.
On March 31, the 'Golden Disc Awards' team shared a playful update, saying, “Global fans, even if you take a day off on Friday, May 29, please forgive us. That day marks SHINee’s unavoidable ‘Annual Performance Review Meeting.’ For the first time in a year, all four members will reunite for their solo concert [THE INVERT]. SHINee is back!”
Along with the announcement, new promotional photos caught attention. The members posed in cheerleading-style outfits in front of a banner that read “SHINee Activation Workshop & Performance Review,” giving fans a glimpse of the group’s fun and quirky concept.
Key, returning to the public eye after five months, stood out. He appeared with a slightly gaunt face, an awkward smile, and black hair. In December, Key had received medical treatment at home and in a clinic introduced by an acquaintance. However, the individual, dubbed the “Injection Aunt,” was reportedly not a licensed medical professional, which sparked controversy.
Key’s agency stated, “Key believed the person was a licensed doctor and did not realize that receiving home treatment could be problematic. He has since learned the individual was not medically licensed and deeply regrets his ignorance.” He subsequently withdrew from all ongoing programs and paused activities.
SHINee is scheduled to hold 'The Trilogy I - 2026 SHINee WORLD VIII: [THE INVERT]' from May 29 to 31 at KSPO Dome in Seoul’s Songpa District. This will be the first time in about a year that all four members perform together, raising excitement among fans.
The concert title 'INVERT,' meaning “to flip” or “to transform,” signals a fresh approach. Fans can expect innovative staging and new perspectives on SHINee’s music, offering a fully immersive experience that reflects the group’s creative vision.
