American R&B duo Emotional Oranges has clarified rumors about a potential collaboration with NewJeans’ Danielle.
On May 21, the duo took to Instagram to address the speculation, writing, “Guys, there's no Dani collab, I was just helping produce a song for Livvie!! Sorry if we caused any confusion, but that genuinely wasn't the intention.” Livvie is referring to Olivia Marsh, Danielle’s older sister.
They added, “Sorry if we caused any confusion, but that genuinely wasn't the intention,” and concluded with, “Hope you're enjoying orenjii & we can't wait to see you on tour soon.”

The rumors began on May 19, when Emotional Oranges shared a photo of Danielle sitting in a studio chair with the caption, “Just give us some time, guys. It's coming.” The post included both an orange emoji, representing Emotional Oranges, and a bunny emoji, often associated with NewJeans.

This led some fans to believe a collaboration was underway. However, the situation drew additional attention because NewJeans is currently involved in a legal dispute with their agency, ADOR, and a court has prohibited the group from engaging in independent activities. The post in question has since been deleted.
