Akdong Musician explained their decision to join YG Entertainment.

The sibling duo had experience training under all of the 'BIG 3' agencies in Korea during SBS's 'K-Pop Star'. Ultimately, Akdong Musician chose to be under YG over JYP and SM Entertainment

In a recent interview, Akdong Musician talked about their decision, and explained, "We loved Big Bang ever since we were little so we listened to a lot of YG music but it was this one time that made us go to YG."

They continued, "YG really just left us alone. CEO Yang told us, 'Do whatever you guys want' and just created the environment for us. We even took over directing in the recording studio, and when things didn't satisfy our minds the staff members so willingly said, 'Let's do it again', after 9 hours of work. These aspects made us turn our minds toward YG because our goal was to do music. We never thought about anywhere else other than YG."

I cant imagine them in SM tho. Itd be interesting to see how sM would promote them.

This is what I appreciate the most about YG. Fans may complain that the artists don't have enough comebacks, but I think it's better to have them make music the way they want without any extreme pressure to produce instead of overworking them and forcing them to go to multiple events and comeback every couple of months. And tbh, the songs that are produced in the end rarely flop.

I mean, it seems like the promo the snake yg is giving is low

I'd totally take YG to fulfill my dungeon fantasies

We complain about YG's delays in debuts and comebacks, but I still think it's the better of the three bigs (please don't kill me if you like other companies)

People always complain about YG's trolling and lack of promotions, but people forget that a lot of YG acts have a hand in composing and/ or writing their own music (BIGBANG, AkMu, iKon, Winner). If they had other people write and produce their music, they'd make a comeback twice a year like other entertainment companies. The only one people can complain about is 2NE1 bc they don't write or compose their own music.

Lee Hi doesnt write most of her songs, and takes her ages to make a comeback. And 2NE1 has never given a chance to write music, only in their last album, CL started writing and producing. I am a blackjack so i followed 2ne1 career in the last seven years and my conclusion is that when it comes to females idols, yg tends to be way more controlling and doesnt give a lot of chances, unless they realy prove themselves. If 2ne1 wasnt so sucessfull and i dont think CL would have the opportunities she is having.

for that reason for me i think yeah true about female idol, but 2ne1 is 1st ever YG Girlgroup and Lee Hi is 2nd female artist in YG after gummy CMIIW, and of course they will take a little longer about comebacks, maybe the songs offered to Lee Hi by other composer isn't great as YG like, but i dunno what YG thinks right now kkk~

Seems like they would fit better in Loen with IU. that style of music that is.
