IOI's Kim So Hye joins the ranks of celebs to take a strong stance against all the people leaving malicious, hateful, and false internet comments.

On August 21, Kim So Hye's management agency S&P Entertainment uploaded a statement on their official homepage, warning all those who have been leaving malicious comments against the idol.

The statement reads:

"We recently discovered the behavior of certain netizens which resulted in the continuous dissemination of malicious rumors and falsities regarding our artist, hateful comments, and reputation damage. Consequently, we plan to take legal action using the materials we gathered through constant monitoring and the files fans have submitted.

Producing and spreading malicious rumors despite the official notice on our homepage is not only an infringement of rights for S&P Entertainment and its artists but it is also considered an action which disturbs the smooth operation of entertainment activities; thus, we will correspond forcefully with criminal prosecution as well as a civil claim to hold whoever is responsible accountable.

Previously, we ascertained the suspect who spread malicious rumors but taking into consideration that the suspect was a student, that it was the first offense, that the suspect reflected deeply on the crime, and that the victimized artist pleaded in favor of the defendant, we dropped our claim after the defendant wrote a letter of apology and promised to never commit the crime again. However, in accordance to the complaints of the victim, the victim's family and fans which stem from the malicious rumors, we want to make it clear that we will take forceful legal action with no more instances of leniency."

If I was Sohye.. I would just leave that student alone. FOR NOW!!! As the Klingons would say, "Revenge is best served cold" .... When that guy has a family... I will ruin his life... to the point that he could not stand up again... But, then again, I am not her... So he was lucky for this life time... :) hahahaha

It is surreal how the ranting of zit-faced brats online can prompt adults into taking legal action. In order for a reputation to threatened, the source of the threat should be credible and have access to insider information that could compromise a person's reputation or livelihood. Friends, colleagues, business associates, former lovers, reporters, gov't officials, etc. can pose a threat, but can't see how some random brat in his mommy's basement can pose a credible threat to any celebrity's reputation. Unless the legal bar in Korea is so low that simply calling someone names online is a criminal offense. Pretty sad how Koreans have such thin skin. Not talking about Sohye here... she is too adorable to criticize - but Koreans in general.

Well sometimes, these 'rantings' can have a detrimental effect on a person's career and mental health stability. Wouldn't be the first time someone self harmed or suicide because of malicious comments online.

Trial by media. You're talking about a society that crucified one of their top stars for a friggin emoji.

An emoji that represented the times where their people were crucified or worse

Funny how that whole flag witch hunt thing really didn't exist before 2013.

Sophia_Sone4ever Monday, August 22, 2016

Great ! Show them that it's not okay to do this !
