Kangin is accused of drinking and driving his Mercedes-Benz vehicle into a streetlamp and fleeing the scene. On May 24, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station stated he's under investigation after colliding with a lamp post in front of a Gangnam convenience store earlier in the day at 2AM KST.

The store owner is said to have called the police to report a downed streetlamp, and after interviewing witnesses, the police reportedly found the Super Junior member was responsible. Reports also say Kangin parked his car in front of the convenience store for 2 hours before driving, which is when the accident occurred and he fled the scene.

Kangin is reported to have expressed to the police that he remembered hitting something with his car, but he had no idea it was a streetlamp. Police have stated they're currently looking into Kangin's blood alcohol content as well as whether he did actually flee the scene.

In related news, Kangin was also charged with a DUI and hit and run in 2009. Stay tuned for updates.

Who watched EYK's video? That video about rose was hit by a car driven by a drunk person. If you guys think DUI is a simple matter that can be forgiven, you clearly didn't understand the gravity of the situation. I quote, he doesn't remember what he hit. And then he fled the scene. What if it was not a streetlamp and it is a person? Also this is not his first time. like, wth? Seriously?Really you guys wanna defend him? DUI is a serious matter. Imagine if your family members got into an accident because someone is DUI. Probably at that time you wouldn't be so forgiving.

I agree. Speak the truth. This isn't some petty dating scandal, this is breaking the law. I think people just defend him because he served his country. But that just makes his actions more shameful. I'm disappointed. I really liked his personality in A Song For You, but this is inexcusable

To those who are defending him and his actions, don't. What kangin did was wrong. What he did was a CRIME whether you like it or not. The worst part is that he freaking LEFT. He, himself, even admitted that he did not know what exactly he hit. Sure maybe this time it was a lamppost but what if it was a person? What if it was somebody's loved family member? He wouldn't have even known cause he LEFT. This is 100% not okay and defending him just shows how biased and blind you are.
