The members of the rookie boy group NEWBEAT dedicated heartfelt letters to the late father of their leader Park Minseok, who passed away shortly before the team's debut.
On the latest installment of the YouTube segment 'Golden Choice - From a Stranger', NEWBEAT showcased their strong family bond by opening up about the passing of leader Minseok's father.
In their letters, dedicated both to Minseok and to his late father, the members said, "Back then, when I saw you holding your emotions back to be strong in front of your family, it brought me to tears. I'm grateful for this opportunity to express my gratitude to your father for raising you to be such a good son." Another wrote, "We will strengthen our bond even more so that Minseok hyung can rely on us. Please do not worry about him and watch how we grow."
Another member who dedicated his words to Minseok revealed, "It was so heartbreaking to see you dressed in your suit. To me, you were always our solid and strong hyung. So when I saw you shedding tears for the first time that day, it really broke me too. But even then, you told us not to stay too long, and that upset me. NEWBEAT is family. When someone is going through a hard time, there's no need to worry about being a burden. Let's just rely on one another."
Afterward, Park Minseok reflected, "I do think there was always some regret in my heart over the fact that my dad did not get to see his son fulfill his dream. This is our first time performing solely for our dad. We will do our best."
NEWBEAT then wrapped up with a performance of their debut title track "Flip the Coin", exuding their powerful energy. Watch the full segment by Golden Disc, below.
