According to the Korean Film Council’s box office data on August 20 KST, 'Pretty Crazy' starring
YoonA and Ahn Bo Hyun has risen to #1 in advance ticket sales, surpassing strong competitors like 'F1: The Movie' and 'My Daughter is a Zombie.'
The occult romantic comedy tells the story of an unemployed young man, Gil Gu (Ahn Bo Hyun), who takes on the unusual job of watching over Seon Ji (YoonA), a woman who transforms into a demon every night.

Directed by Lee Sang Geun, who previously helmed 'Exit' (which drew 9.42 million moviegoers), the film was considered a strong contender to reach the 10 million admissions milestone even before its release. Hopes were high in the industry that it could replicate or even surpass the success of 'Exit.'
However, its initial performance fell short of expectations. On opening day, it drew 48,561 viewers, placing second at the box office, but attendance declined steadily afterward. As of now, total admissions stand at about 300,630, far below the breakeven point of roughly 1.7 million.
Despite its lackluster numbers, audience reactions have been unexpectedly favorable. It currently holds ratings of 7.07 on Naver, 8.7 on Lotte Cinema, 7.9 on Megabox, and an 87% 'Golden Egg Index' on CGV. Viewers have praised its lighthearted comedy and the chemistry between the leads, sparking positive promotion via word-of-mouth.

Fueled by this buzz, the film climbed to #1 among Korean movies in ticket reservations on the 20th—just seven days after release. Notably, it surpassed the Hollywood blockbuster 'F1: The Movie' and the current box office leader 'My Daughter is A Zombie,' securing second place overall and first place among Korean films.
