Song Ha Yoon’s legal representative, the law firm Jieum, has addressed the arrival of a female accuser, identified as Ms. A, who alleges school bullying by the actress.
On August 22, Jieum told Maeil Business Newspaper StarToday, “To ensure that Ms. A can promptly return to Korea and undergo investigation, we will cover all expenses, including airfare, hotel, and transportation.” The firm added, “Following Ms. A’s arrival in Korea, we are fully prepared to verify and respond to each of the claims individually.”
Ms. A, currently residing in the United States, indicated on August 21 via an online community that Song Ha Yoon’s side had labeled her as a “wanted person” and “suspect,” and filed an additional complaint against her for false accusations. According to Ms. A, Song Ha Yoon’s team demanded a public apology for what they deemed a false confession. She also claimed to have officially confirmed documents from authorities regarding Song Ha Yoon’s forced school transfer.
Furthermore, Ms. A stated her intention to pursue additional legal action for false accusation, defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, defamation under criminal law, and coercion. She also plans to challenge the law firm on issues of defamation via publications and breaches of attorney ethics.
Ms. A asserted, “This case involves global defamation and false accusation targeting a foreign national, differentiating it from ordinary cases. It will set an important precedent regarding whistleblower protection and the limits of personal attacks through the media.”
Song Ha Yoon’s school bullying controversy first surfaced in April last year through JTBC’s 'Crime Chief.' At the time, Ms. A claimed that she and three other classmates were victims of group assault by Song Ha Yoon during high school, which allegedly led to their forced transfers.
Song Ha Yoon’s representatives have consistently denied all allegations, calling them “groundless.”
