The individual who first raised school bullying allegations against actress Song Ha Yoon has announced plans to file a counter-lawsuit and stated they will soon enter South Korea to cooperate with the investigation.
On August 21, the accuser (hereafter referred to as A) posted an online statement titled 'I Am the Victim of Song Ha Yoon’s School Bullying and Assault.'
In the statement, A said, “For 12 months, there was no official response from Song Ha Yoon’s side. Then, in March 2025, they filed a criminal complaint. In May, the investigative authorities decided on ‘suspension of investigation’ and ‘suspension of suspect status.’ However, in July, I was suddenly designated as a wanted suspect, and on July 22, Song Ha Yoon filed an additional complaint against me on charges of false accusation. I am now preparing a systematic legal response.”
A also claimed that official documents confirming Song Ha Yoon’s forced school transfer do exist, contradicting the actress’s previous denials. “If there was no forced transfer due to school violence, the records should have been classified as ‘nonexistent,’” A argued.
The accuser stated plans to countersue Song Ha Yoon for false accusation, defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, defamation by false information under the Criminal Act, and coercion. In addition, Song’s legal representatives will be targeted for joint defamation, defamation through publication, and violations of attorney ethics.
A emphasized that they had initially sought a peaceful resolution. “From the beginning, I had no intention of prolonging this as a conflict. Despite Song Ha Yoon and her law firm attempting to brand me with a false criminal frame to socially bury me worldwide, I even offered them a chance to exit honorably. But instead of accepting, they demanded a false confession and public apology. When I refused, they escalated with further legal action. This is organized retaliation aimed at eliminating a whistleblower, effectively a form of social assassination.”
The statement also addressed the broader issue of school violence. “School violence is a deeply rooted structural problem in our society. I will make every step of this process transparent to the public and propose solutions. To bring this case to a close, I plan to enter Korea and will faithfully participate in future police investigations.”
The controversy began in April 2024 when A appeared on JTBC’s investigative program 'Crime Chief' and claimed that in August 2004, while in high school, they suffered 90 minutes of continuous bullying and assault by Song Ha Yoon. At the time, Song’s agency KingKong by Starship denied the allegations, calling them “groundless” and stating that the actress had “no connection whatsoever” with the accuser.
Despite this, A continued to assert their stance as a victim. On July 22, 2025, Song Ha Yoon, through her legal representatives at Jieum Law Firm, filed a complaint against A for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act and obstruction of business by fraud. On August 18, an additional complaint was filed for obstruction of business and intimidation.
Meanwhile, Song Ha Yoon has effectively suspended her activities following the expiration of her exclusive contract with KingKong by Starship Entertainment.
