
'Hidden Eye' is set to expose the audacious and brazen post-release actions and baffling excuses of child sex offender Cho Doo Soon, who brutally sexually assaulted an elementary school student.
The MBC Every1 crime analysis commentary program is set to air on November 10 at 8:30 PM and will feature profiler Kwon Il Yong digging into the details of the Cho Doo Soon case on its "Crime Rules" segment.
The show will cover Cho Doo Soon's unbelievably brazen actions following his release from prison. Despite being under an order restricting his movements during specific times, such as when elementary school students commute, Cho Doo Soon violated this order four times this year alone, causing fear among residents.
MC Kim Dong Hyun expressed fury over Cho Doo Soon's absurd excuse for these unauthorized outings, stating, "It seems he has absolutely no fear of the law."
Cho Doo Soon's case is one of the most notorious cases in South Korea. It is an assault and rape case that occurred in December 2008 when the perpetrator, Cho Doo Soon, brutally raped an eight-year-old girl at a church bathroom. Cho Doo Soon, at the time, claimed he was heavily intoxicated and did not recall his actions. He severely injured the victim, causing permanent organ damage, lasting disability, and mental trauma.
In December 2020, Cho Doo Soon was released from prison and causing much controversy as he moved back to Ansan, near the victim's home. Since his release, he had violated various restrictions, including curfew and travel restrictions.
Meanwhile, 'Hidden Eye' is a crime analysis commentary show that analyzes incidents through various footage like CCTV, bodycams, and black boxes. The episode covering Cho Doo Soon's case will air on November 10 at 8:30 PM.
