Epik High’s Tablo revealed that he writes a will for his wife, Kang Hye Jung, and daughter, Haru, every time he leaves for an overseas tour.
In a video uploaded to Epik High’s official YouTube channel on November 6, members Tablo, Tukutz, and Mithra Jin set off from Seoul’s Hangang area to Osaka, Japan, Taipei, Taiwan, and Hong Kong in search of the best noodle dishes in East Asia.
While eating beef noodle soup in Taipei, Tablo shared, “I guess this could also be a matter of personal preference Man, I like how clean it tastes Earlier, what I was trying to say about death was, during the seasons when we tour a lot, I write down where all my assets are and stuff— if something happens and I'm gone, what needs to be done, for Hyejung and Haru to be able to take care of themselves I write all that stuff down.”
He continued, “And I film a video before I leave, always. And every time I film it, what makes me feel like I've gotten older is, even in my 20s and 30s, I'd imagine my own death and be afraid, but (now) that doesn't cross my mind at all. Solely, only my family matters. I'm not important to myself anymore. I mean, it's in a way, it's only natural because we now have beings who are more important than we are.”
Tukutz agreed, saying, “Aww, but we're important too. But it can't be helped. Since we fly and travel a lot, you never know when something might happen.”
Tablo added, “When we go on tours, like in the US, we go to a lot of dangerous areas too. So you can't help but worry. Hyejung hates it, just me talking about stuff like that.” Tukutz laughed and replied, “People who prepare thoroughly for things like this live for a long time.”
Tablo then added with a smile, “I even wrote a P.S. on the last line because I was worried my family would cry if it was too serious. I wrote, 'If Mithra and Tukutz, without my permission, release a song with my voice in it, it might be AI, so be sure to check'.”
