While K-pop’s leading girl group TWICE is currently on their world tour, member Chaeyoung will join the U.S. leg at a later time due to a back issue.
On March 26th KST, their agency JYP Entertainment stated, “While preparing for departure, Chaeyoung suddenly experienced an issue with her lower back this morning. It was determined that she urgently needed medical attention, and as a result, her departure schedule has been inevitably postponed.”
Accordingly, Chaeyoung did not depart for the United States with the other members and will remain in Korea to receive medical examination and necessary treatment. After carefully reviewing the results and her recovery progress, she plans to depart as soon as possible.
JYP Entertainment added, “If there are any changes to future performance schedules, we will inform fans as quickly as possible through our official communication channels. Even if Chaeyoung participates in upcoming performances, some aspects of her performance may be limited.”
They continued, “We sincerely apologize to ONCE who have been waiting for the performances for the sudden news. The company will prioritize the artist’s health above all else and do our utmost to ensure sufficient treatment, rest, and a speedy recovery.”
Previously, another member, Dahyun, was also found to have an ankle issue during the early stages of the tour. Following a detailed examination, she was diagnosed with a fracture and will be absent from the tour for the time being.
TWICE is currently on their world tour, 'THIS IS FOR', covering 43 cities worldwide. Next month, they are set to hold a solo concert at Japan’s National Stadium in Tokyo, becoming the first overseas artist to do so.
