SM Entertainment has announced a firm stance against ongoing invasions of privacy involving its pre-debut male trainee team SMTR25.
On March 25th KST, the agency stated, “Recently, there have been continuous incidents that seriously violate the privacy of SMTR25. If the situation does not improve immediately, we will take strong legal action and respond with a zero-tolerance policy.”
According to the company, certain sasaeng individuals have repeatedly engaged in dangerous behavior, including illegally entering the trainees’ residence, attempting excessive physical contact with members, and forcibly boarding taxis with them. Additional incidents include shouting trainees’ names loudly within the building, causing disturbances, illegally dumping trash, and entering restricted areas where outsiders are prohibited. SM Entertainment emphasized that such actions are causing significant harm not only to the trainees but also to residents sharing the same space.
The agency further stated, “These actions are instilling anxiety in trainees who have not even officially debuted yet, affecting their daily lives,” and called for an immediate halt to such privacy violations. It added, “Although we have already taken measures such as verbal warnings and deploying security personnel, the situation has not improved and has reached its limit. To prevent safety incidents, protect privacy, and deter criminal activity for both our trainees and nearby residents, we will pursue strong legal action.”
