The original webtoon behind the hit drama is seeing a major resurgence in popularity.
According to Naver Webtoon on March 25, views of the original series 'Efficient Dating for Singles' increased approximately 17 times in the three weeks following the drama’s release (February 28 to March 20), compared to the three weeks before the teaser’s debut.
A Naver Webtoon representative stated, “More than half of the webtoon’s readers are women in their 30s and 40s, closely aligning with the drama’s primary viewership. Cross-consumption between the video content and the original work is continuing to grow.”
Author Tari, who created the original webtoon, shared, “I’m deeply moved that a story that concluded in 2022 is receiving such passionate love again through its new life as a drama. Even as time passes, it’s incredibly rewarding and meaningful as a creator to see past works reconnect and communicate with present-day readers through platform systems. I hope viewers will continue to enjoy the rest of the drama’s journey alongside the original webtoon.”

'Efficient Dating for Singles' is a JTBC weekend drama that follows a woman who decides to pursue love and goes on blind dates, where she meets two men with contrasting charms. As she becomes drawn to both and struggles with her feelings, she ultimately searches for the true meaning of love. Starring Han Ji Min, Park Sung Hoon, and Lee Ki Taek, the series has garnered attention and praise from early on for its realistic portrayal of relationship challenges faced by men and women.
The original webtoon was serialized weekly from September 30, 2021, to September 29, 2022, and gained attention at the time for its relatable storytelling and engaging plot.
The story centers around three characters: Lee Eui Young, Song Tae Seop, and Shin Ji Soo. Lee Eui Young, the protagonist, does not believe in marriage but finds herself frequently going on blind dates due to pressure from her mother, which becomes a source of stress.

Song Tae Seop is quiet and reserved, with little interest in marriage or romantic ideals. Shin Ji Soo, on the other hand, is portrayed as a handsome man with a pleasant voice but lacking a sense of reality, chasing his dreams without holding a steady job. Despite this, he maintains an optimistic outlook on life.
As the two men with vastly different personalities enter her life, Lee Eui Young finds herself caught in emotional turmoil between them. Han Ji Min has been praised for her realistic portrayal of the character’s indecision, while Park Sung Hoon and Lee Ki Taek are also earning positive reviews for their strong resemblance to the original webtoon characters and relatable performances.
In episode 8, which aired on March 22, Lee Eui Young chooses Song Tae Seop, ending their ambiguous “situationship” and transitioning into a romantic relationship. Attention is now turning to Shin Ji Soo’s next move—whether he will remain supportive as a friend or attempt to win back her heart.
Meanwhile, 'Efficient Dating for Singles' airs every Saturday at 10:40 PM and Sunday at 10:30 PM, and is also exclusively available on the OTT platform TVING.
