Cao Lu, leader of the girl group FIESTAR, has once again stepped forward to support the group’s activities, marking their 13th debut anniversary.
On August 28, Cao Lu uploaded a video on her YouTube channel titled 'FIESTAR Contract Terminated After 6 Months. Things Are Never Easy, But We Have Our Own Persistence.' In the video, the members explained the reasons behind their delayed comeback.
FIESTAR, who reunited last year on their 12th debut anniversary with a remake of their debut mini-album title track “You’re Pitiful,” had signed an exclusive contract with Bomnal Entertainment shortly after. However, with no further activity updates since then, fans were left wondering about the group’s future.
Addressing this, Cao Lu revealed, “A lot has happened over the past 16 months. Our comeback was halted due to the company’s internal issues. When we signed in February, I was so happy. Our original comeback date was May 6, and Hyemi had already begun arranging songs at the end of February.”
Hyemi added, “While preparing, unforeseen issues at the company forced us to cancel everything. I was heartbroken, especially because "Vista" is the song that made FIESTAR who we are. We didn’t know how to break the news to fans, but Cao Lu suggested we at least meet them face-to-face.”
Cao Lu expressed her determination, saying, “I believe nothing is impossible in life. If we stick together, it will happen no matter what. That’s why I decided to invest again.” She further revealed that she personally covered all costs for the production of their upcoming release immediately after the contract termination. The group is now set to showcase their debut track “Vista” again on August 31.
Yezi shared her gratitude, saying, “Honestly, I worried it might be too much of a burden for Cao Lu. But she encouraged us to regroup and finish what we started, which meant a lot to me.” Fans responded with supportive comments such as, “Cao Lu, we’ll always support you,” “She’s truly admirable,” and “We’ll be waiting for the song release with excitement.”
FIESTAR originally debuted in 2012 with “VISTA” and later released hits including “You’re Pitiful” and “APPLE PIE.” After officially disbanding in 2018, each member pursued individual careers.
Cao Lu has shown remarkable dedication to the group’s reunion, even raising funds through live commerce in China to personally purchase the copyright for “You’re Pitiful.” Her continued commitment has deeply moved longtime fans.
