
Actor Jung Il Woo touched hearts with his display of filial affection as he attended his mother’s retirement ceremony.
On August 28, Jung shared a heartfelt message on his social media, writing: “Mother, I sincerely congratulate you on your retirement. I deeply respect the years of dedication and effort you have given, and as your son, I am truly grateful.” His post was accompanied by several photos from the ceremony.
In the released photos, Professor Shim Yeon Ok, elegantly dressed in a traditional hanbok, stood at the podium delivering her remarks. In a family portrait, she was seen beaming with joy, while Jung Il Woo, dressed in a sharp suit, stood proudly by her side, radiating warmth with their mother-son bond.
He further expressed his affection, writing, “You have beautifully concluded a long journey and are now stepping into a new beginning. I wholeheartedly support your future path. Please stay healthy, and I love you.”
Professor Shim Yeon Ok has served for nearly 20 years at the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage in Buyeo, specializing in traditional textiles. She is also recognized for her contributions as a cultural heritage committee member. Jung previously revealed that his mother assisted with costume patterns for the hit drama 'The Moon Embracing the Sun,' proudly acknowledging her expertise.
Jung Il Woo made his debut in the 2006 sitcom 'High Kick!' and is currently appearing in the KBS 2TV weekend drama 'Our Golden Days.' He has also drawn attention in the past for being a descendant of the prominent Joseon scholar Dasan Jeong Yak Yong.
