[Drama Review + Giveaway] 'Pinocchio' - Episode 7 + Caption Contest!

Park Shin Hye, Lee Jong Suk, Lee Yu Bi, Kim Young Kwang
The brothers finally meet under unfortunate circumstances. Now that they have walked down separate paths, how will their relationship develop? Can they still be the loving brothers they once were now that they seem to be working on opposite sides?

Once again, everything about the brothers' storyline is heartbreaking, but it's executed very well. I like the way that they meet, even if it's sad. While big brother Jae Myeong (whom I referred to as Ji Myeong last time, my apologies!) continues to plot revenge, Dal Po realizes that being a reporter is much harder than he expected, and he feels challenged to report the truth. The result? Dal Po is faced with the possibility of exposing his brother's crimes to the world. What a cruel twist of fate.

The romance between our leads is developing steadily as feelings grow stronger, but I find myself much more invested in the news world than in their relationship. I'm not saying that I don't care about Dal Po and In Ha; I've come to like them both individually. But their passion for the news world is much more exciting to me than their passion for each other at the moment. I don't really think this is bad thing.

Speaking of the news world, after a long (LONG) week of anticipation, we finally find out that our winner of MCN vs. YGN's first head-to-head competition is In Ha!Like In Ha, I thought I would have an "IN YO FACE" moment against Dal Po since his statement that a Pinocchio can't become a reporter was really uncalled for a few episodes back. But seeing Dal Po's crestfallen reaction and, even worse, the victim's reaction to how her mother was being misrepresented by the media, I felt bad for both Dal Po and the victim alike. It was a sobering moment for both Dal Po and me to realize that what's more important than a news competition is the people who could get hurt by the news itself. Although Dal Po had a moment of depression, it was good to see him grow through it and to really ask himself that question, "Is it worth being a reporter?"

Now that Dal Po is faced with the difficult choice of being a reporter or being Jae Myeong's brother, I'm interested in how Dal Po will find his answer to whether it's worth doing this job or not.

Highlights:

Cha Ok being ballsy and playing mean. Which I liked.

Until this happened. Saddest scene of the episode.

Dal Po having the same harsh words he yelled at In Ha thrown back at him. A good, yet heartbreaking moment of reflection.

Grampa Choi Gong Pil (Byun Hee Bong) telling Dal Po like it is.

It was refreshing to hear Hwang Gyo Dong (Lee Pil Mo) admit that he made a mistake as a reporter during the fire accident. Shows that it's normal for reporters to make mistakes and misinform the public on the job. Now Dal Po knows this firsthand.

LOL, Mama Park Ro Sa (Kim Hae Sook) trying to do the reporting for her son and his crush. As weird as she can be sometimes, she was cute in this scene.

In Ha would go so far as to sleep on a heated toilet seat to avoid Dal Po...

...so that he doesn't get a cold. Wait, so you were okay with everyone else catching your cold?

In Ha having a moment with her sleeping beauty.

Omo.

"MISSION ABORT."

A back hug set against the backdrop of some meaningful music. Oh yeah.

Meanwhile, Jae Myeong is possibly thinking of his next targets. Oh no.

In Ha's escape plans are getting sillier and sillier. This time, she crawls/hops away from Dal Po to avoid him for a different reason.

How could she resist this aegyo doe?!

The brothers finally meet, but Dal Po isn't quick to reveal his real identity just yet. What could his reason be? Is he in a state of shock? Or is it possible that he's already decided to treat Jae Myeong like a suspect during their surprise reunion?
