Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon is set to take a meaningful step that will be remembered in K-pop history. She will become the first girl-group member and solo artist to release a compilation album, once regarded as a “best album” in the industry.
SM Entertainment announced that Taeyeon, in celebration of her 10th solo debut anniversary, will release her first compilation album, 'Panorama: The BEST OF TAEYEON,' on December 1. The album will include 24 tracks, covering her 10-year musical journey since her 2015 solo debut with “I,” as well as a brand-new song titled “Hello.”
This best album is being viewed as a “tangible marker” of Taeyeon’s status as a top-tier female vocalist for ten consecutive years, attracting major attention not only from fans but from the entire music industry. As the K-pop system has shifted toward mini-albums and digital singles, traditional “best albums” have become increasingly rare, now seen almost as an honor reserved only for a select few major artists.
Looking specifically at the 2020s, the only notable best album released domestically was SEVENTEEN’s “17 Is Right Here” last year; expanding to Japan, BTS and TWICE are among the few who own compilation albums.

Taeyeon has spent 18 years on stage as a member of legendary group Girls’ Generation and 10 years as a soloist, earning the beloved nickname “믿듣탱 (Trust-and-listen Taeyeon).” The phrase, meaning “Taeyeon you can trust to deliver great music,” represents both her vocal excellence and the consistency she has shown as one of K-pop’s representative vocalists.
