It has been confirmed that Hanni was the NewJeans member who did not attend the earlier meeting with ADOR’s CEO, held during the group’s exclusive contract dispute.
According to reports on the 17th, Hanni was staying overseas and was unable to join the November 11 meeting between ADOR CEO Lee Do Kyung, the NewJeans members, and their guardians. The meeting reportedly discussed conditions and requests related to the members’ return to the agency. Hanni informed ADOR ahead of time that she could not attend.
Because of this, ADOR has identified Hanni as the “member who was in Antarctica,” a phrase that sparked heavy curiosity among fans when three members announced their intention to return. The agency will arrange an individual meeting with her once she returns to Korea.
Earlier, ADOR confirmed on the 12th that Haerin and Hyein had decided to return, just one day after meeting with the CEO. Later, Minji, Hanni, and Danielle also announced—through their legal representatives—that they would return to ADOR, though their statement was released before final coordination with the agency. ADOR commented that it is still “confirming the intent” and scheduling individual meetings.
The identity of the “Antarctica member” quickly became a hot topic online, with speculation spreading across communities.
NewJeans originally declared contract termination in November 2024, while ADOR filed a lawsuit asserting the validity of the exclusive contracts. The court sided with ADOR in both the injunction and the main ruling, and the first-trial verdict was finalized after no appeal was filed.
